Waystone have a new Executive Director - Business Development role available in the US. We are open to locations and will consider candidates in Miami and California. We have offices in these places.


Applicants must be able to demonstrate success in a Hedge/PERE Fund role with a network of referral sources and industry contacts. You don't necessarily have to have done business development or sales in the past as product knowledge is more important but you will have to be highly driven and interested in a switch to the sales side.

Summary:
Reporting to the North American Head of Fund Administration Solutions, the Executive Director will be an integral part of the team’s success.


Some key responsibilities include:

  • Developing a strong pipeline of potential clients in the open-ended and closed-ended fund space (hedge funds, private equity and real estate “PERE” funds and credit funds).
  • Maintaining and building a network and pipeline in the hedge, PERE and credit sector to position the firm’s administration service offering in Europe.
  • Helping to build the firm’s brand and increase brand awareness to generate quality leads.
  • Developing and managing the intermediary and third-party services provider network.
  • Meet the sales targets assigned for the jurisdiction.
  • Support the business development team in researching, identifying, and analyzing opportunities.
  • Generate business development plan and meet new revenue targets.
  • Perform fundamental market research including competitive landscape, Investor and industry trends, among other business-related activities.
  • Develop strategies for establishing partnerships and business relationships to market product offerings and services to Investment managers/Investors.
  • Prepare, deliver and attend client presentations, demonstrations as well as the preparation of in-depth proposals and detailed quotes.
  • Liaise with attorneys, investment managers, investors, brokers and other financial service providers around the world as the primary contact.
  • Support the Global Business Development team as the subject matter expert on hedge, PERE and credit.
  • Responsible for the generation of new business sales revenue and for the overall development and growth of Waystone’s profile and reputation.
  • Manages relationships with all prospects, clients and partners.

Experience:


  • Excellent understanding of the hedge, PERE and credit sector; including the regulatory environment and legal frameworks associated with the industry.
  • A self-motivated individual who can demonstrate an ability to work in a demanding, fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrable success in a private equity fund sales or admin role with network of referral sources and industry contacts.
  • A positive attitude and excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to be commercial, show initiative and to use common sense and intuition – derived from your professional experience.
  • A team player who is flexible and adaptable across a range of tasks.
  • Candidate should have excellent networking skills, be highly motivated, and adept at building relationships.
  • Analytical and critical thinking skills; ability to make good decisions when faced with complex or ambiguous data.
  • Client facing background with outstanding presentation skills.

Education:


  • Strong academic background including an MSc in Finance/Business/Economics or related field.
